Margarita Rousso is a visual artist and photographer whose work moves between the intimate and the universal, exploring the body, memory, identity and the often invisible forces that shape human experience. Her work is rooted in long-term projects, often developed over years, where personal experience, observation and instinct intersect.

She is the author of two published photobooks: Faraway Songs (Ciela Publishing, 2014) and Context (Orfeo Press, 2019), the latter created in collaboration with writer Raymondo.

Among her other long-term bodies of work are Gravity Co. (French Institute, Sofia, 2008), Andalucía: Passion for Life (Instituto Cervantes, 2019), Tomorrow’s Memories (IPA Recognition, 2020), and Reach for Change (2022).

Margarita Rousso’s work has been exhibited internationally in solo exhibitions throughout Bulgaria, as well as in Paris, London, Bern and Chicago, and is held in private collections across Europe and the United States.
